Carolyn E. (Baker) Fleming

August 13, 1919 — November 5, 2019

Carolyn E. (Baker) Fleming, 100 years old, passed away peacefully in her home on Nov. 5, 2019.

Born Aug. 13, 1919 in Lloydsville, she was a daughter of the late Philip G. and Hannah (Robb) Baker.  She was a life-long member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran church where she, a mother of 8 children herself, realized the need for and helped create the first nursery for children of parents attending morning church services.

Carolyn was a retired telephone operator supervisor for bell telephone.  She loved her job and spoke fondly of it for many years with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Wellington G. Fleming; two brothers Howard L. Baker, and Philip G. Baker Jr.; five sisters, her twin sister Christina M. Marshall, Regina Baker, Rebecca E. Berkey, Martha G. Bird and Mary Louise Bloom; three children Kathleen E. McNeely, Rebecca L. Fleming, Barry A. Fleming, and a granddaughter Emilia A. McNeely.

She is survived by five children Kerrie E. Fleming, Colleen M. Fleming, and Ruth Anne Fleming, all of Latrobe, Sandra L. Rheem and her husband Richard C. Rheem of FL, and Mark S. Fleming of CA; two grandchildren Kristen E. Weiers of Latrobe and Richard P. Weiers of CA; a great-granddaughter Victoria L. Satterfield of Latrobe, as well as many well-loved nieces and nephews.

Carolyn is already missed by her two youngest "children" Panda and Otis, her beloved Shih Tzu puppies.

As per her wishes there will be no public visitation.  Memorial service information will be provided at a later date.  Private burial will be in Unity Cemetery, Latrobe, PA.
