Sandra L. Moreland

Sandra L. Moreland, 63, of Latrobe, died Saturday, April 23, 2011, at home surrounded by her family. She was born Jan. 13, 1948, in Latrobe, a daughter of Meda (Hess) Rager and the late Robert Rager Sr. Sandra graduated from the Allegheny General Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a registered nurse at Latrobe Hospital for more than 30 years. Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Robert Rager Sr. She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Moreland, of Latrobe; son, Dr. Brian Moreland and his wife, Rachel, of Greensburg; her mother, Meda (Hess) Rager, of Blairsville; brother, Robert Rager and his wife, Bonnie, of Palm Harbor, Fla.; and two sisters, Donna Klimchak and her husband, Mike, of Indiana, Pa., and Shelby Pitchford and her husband, Ed, of Coudersport. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Elise and Jack Moreland, of Greensburg; as well as four nieces and six nephews. Friends will be received from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday at FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. August B. Twigg officiating. Burial will be private.
