Samuel Raymond Terney

Samuel Raymond Terney, 77, of Latrobe, passed away Monday, April 22, 2024, at Independence - Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant.  He was born January 27, 1947, in Latrobe, to the late Samuel and Leah Grace (Johnson) Terney.  He served his country in the U.S. Army.  Sam was a retired custotian having worked for Grater Latrobe School District.  He was a member of Pleasant Grove Church, Ligonier, PA where he served as an usher; Sam also loved horses and and NASCAR racing.  He is survived by three children, Kathreine Marie Shrum, Sandy Gaffey and Derrick S. Terney; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, Ryan, Dylan, Danielle, Matthew, and Whitney; and ten great-grandchildren, Jaxton, Aubreyann, Olivia, Anthony, Cassandra, Marcus, Eleanor, Cornelia, Zayden, and Serenity; two sisters, Annamae Boyer (Fred) and Arlene Larson (Emory); as well as several nieces and nephews.  Family and friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650 where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Steve Hospodar officiating.  Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Ligonier.  To purchase flowers or send condolences, please visit www.FrederickFuneralHome.com.
