October 7, 1918 — September 16, 2016

Ruth Catherine Farrow, 97, formerly of Connellsville, died peacefully Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, at Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg. Born Oct. 7, 1918, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Anne (Herron) Hudson. She was the beloved mother of Nancy (Jack) Stewart, of New Castle, Thomas (Gloria) Farrow, of Rehoboth Beach, Del., and Deborah Herwick, of Latrobe; and grandmother of Ronna Stewart, Jeff (Suzanne) Stewart, Scott (Lisa) Farrow, Jill (Darren) Straniero, Lynn (Adam) Cochran, Kelly Herwick and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett; three brothers, Harry Hudson, Wilford Hudson and Walter Hudson; a sister, Verna Jean Provident; and a son-in-law Jim Herwick. Ruth was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Connellsville. She enjoyed many activities such as the Connellsville Garden Club and many, many Bridge Clubs. Ruth was an avid reader and volunteered many hours at the Carnegie Free Library. Ruth will be sadly missed by many, but knowing that she is with her Lord and Savior is a great comfort. Per her wishes, funeral service and interment will be private. A memorial service will be held at a later time. Her family wishes to thank the entire staff at Westmoreland Manor for the love and excellent care that they provided her during her stay with them. Memorial contributions may be made to the Carnegie Free Library, 299 S. Pittsburgh St., Connellsville, PA 15425 or the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 1100 Liberty Ave., Suite E-201 Pittsburgh, PA 15222. To send condolences, visit
