Richard C. Behrman, Sr

Richard C. Behrman Sr., 79, of Latrobe, died Wednesday, March 19, 2014, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. He was born March 29, 1934, in Pittsburgh, son of the late Ann Griner. He was a retired letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 37 years and the owner of McLain and Brash Upholstery which was founded in 1898. He was an American Legion life member for 50 years and a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers for 45 years. He was a member of the Army, serving in Korea. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Behrman; and a son, David Behrman. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Patricia A. (Lehman) Behrman; four children, Richard C. Behrman Jr., Donna McCartney, Susan Ash and Deborah Martinez; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, at FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, in St. Vincent Basilica. Burial will be in St. Vincent Cemetery, Latrobe. The combined funeral detail of local American Legion and VFW members will provide military honors at 9:15 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
