Matilda Ann Camboni

Matilda Ann Camboni, 90, of New Alexandria, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. Born April 25, 1923, in Brenizer, she was a daughter of the late Steve Wano and Susan Paytak Wano. A homemaker, she was Catholic by faith. She was a former member of both the Sons of Italy and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George B. Camboni in 1981; a sister, Evelyn Wano; and three borthers, Frank Wano, Steve Wano and George Wano. Matilda is survived by a son, Armando G. Camboni, of New Alexandria; three grandchildren, George F. Camboni Sr., and his wife, Kim, Jennifer McCarthy and her husband, Richard, of Long Island, N.Y., and Joseph Camboni, of Mt. Pleasant; six great-grandchildren, George Jr., Andrew and Julia Camboni, Tyler and Ariella Eisworth and Joie Camboni; four brothers, Joseph Wano, of Bradenville, John Wano of Michigan, Frank Wano, of Bradenville, and Paul Wano, of Greensburg; two sisters, Frances Lovejoy and husband, Wallace, of Bradenville, and Margaret Everett, and husband, Ronald, of Latrobe; a sister-in-law, Ann Marincheck Wano, of Latrobe; as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. A funeral liturgy will be held Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, in the funeral home at 10:00 AM. Private burial will be in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, N.Y.
