Mary Ann Gates, 49, of Greensburg, died Sunday, June 28, 2009, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. She was born Oct. 6, 1959, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Steven and Caroline Conaby Starenchak. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a private duty nurse's aide. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, David S. Gates; two sons, David A. Farrow, of Clarksburg, Ind., and James W. Farrow, of Uniontown; a granddaughter, Amber Elizabeth Farrow; a sister, Eidi Lynn Griffin and her husband, Timothy, of Greensburg; and three uncles. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe. Funeral service and interment are private.
