Margaret M. Hohn Wayda, 88, of Latrobe, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, in Oak Hill Nursing Center, Greensburg. She was born June 12, 1920, in Snydertown, a daughter of the late John and Mary Blaschak Mehalic. She was a homemaker, and a member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Bradenville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Hohn; her second husband, Stephen Wayda; a daughter, Joan Alesi; five brothers, Pete, Mike, John, Steve and George; and three sisters, Ann Gulas, Mary Hatala and Eleanor Bauer. She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Shivetts and her husband, Jack, of Latrobe, and Larissa Eicher, of Penn; six grandchildren, Jack, Jeff, Jason, Nick, Michele and Aubrey; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Catherine Yates, of New York. Friends will be received from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe. Panachida service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home, followed by Divine Liturgy at 11 a.m. in St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church.
