Margaret E. Kovalcik

Margaret E. Kovalcik, 79, of Latrobe, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. She was born May 30, 1928, in Baltimore, Md., a daughter of the late Raymond and Margaret (McGuire) Cooper. She was a retired bookkeeper, having worked for various businesses including Gee Bee's Furniture as their head bookkeeper. She was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church and the Jednota. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, whose family meant everything to her. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and cooking. She lovingly made halupki for family and friends. All of whom will miss her joyful spirit as she watched them enjoy the fruits of her work. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Cooper; and a sister, Catherine McKay. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, William A. Kovalcik; a daughter, Patricia A. Levay and her husband, Raymond "R.T.," of Latrobe; a son, William A. Kovalcik Jr., of Bloomsburg, Pa.; five grandchildren, Andrew, Margaret and Stephen Kovalcik and Megan Anne and Ray Levay Jr. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC. Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Vincent Cemetery, Unity Township.
