James A. Stoner

James A. Stoner, 59, of Ligonier Twp. passed peacefully on Thursday March 19, 2026, in Independence Health System Westmoreland Hospital with family at his side, after a lifelong struggle with Myotonic Dystrophy. He was born on April 27, 1966, in Pittsburgh, PA to Robert and Marilyn (Young) Stoner. Jim was a member of the Laughlintown Christian Church. He joined Boy Scout Troop 273 and later became an Assistant Scoutmaster. Jim was a member of the Laughlintown Protective Association. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn (Young) Stoner. Jim is survived by his father, Robert D. Stoner; and two brothers, Wade Stoner (Jackie) of Ligonier Twp. and William Stoner (Kristen) of Newford, CT; three nephews, Brendan Stoner, Aidan Stoner, and Connor Stoner; an aunt, Carol Menart; an uncle, Dan Stoner (Connie); and cousins, Michelle Stoner and Dan Stoner.
