James M. "Marc" Poole

James M. "Marc" Poole, 59, of Latrobe (Unity Twp.) passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Independence Health System - Latrobe Hospital with his wife, Lisa, by his side.  Born February 25, 1964, he was the son of Walter C. and Janet L. (Plessinger) Poole.  Marc was a graduate of Greater Latrobe High School and the University of Pittsburgh, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Administration of Justice. He began his career as an air traffic controller in the U.S. Air Force and later moved on to become a Pennsylvania State trooper, with 21 years of service stationed at Somerset Troop T.  He was a member of Saint Vincent Basilica Parish and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 62.  Marc liked to travel to remote islands and enjoyed trips to the ocean with the family, watching the grandchildren on the beach.  Other favorite past times included riding his motorcycle, and target shooting.  In addition to his parents, Marc is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lisa L. (Ruffner) Poole; a son, John Poole (Carrie) of MD, a daughter, Tia Poole of CA; a sister, Heather Esher (Marc); three grandchildren, Owen, Austin and Cameron Poole; as well as many nieces and nephews.  As per his wishes, a funeral Mass and burial will be private.  FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650, entrusted with arrangements.  Memorial donations may be made to Saint Vincent College, Father Gerard Bridge, O.S.B.
