Jacob Steven Gower

Jacob Steven Gower, 22, of Latrobe, died Thursday, May 14, 2015, at home. Born Jan. 26, 1993, in Latrobe, he was a son of Donald A. Gower and Carole A. (Kuba) Painter. He was a machine shop foreman for ArcMaster Enterprises Inc. He was a member of the Lloydsville Sportsmen's Club. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Hubert and Margaret Gower; grandfather, Steve "Steamboat" Kuba; an uncle, Robert O. Schmucker; and two cousins, Andrew Gower and George Lute. He is survived by his father, Donald A. Gower and his wife, Carol (Bendel), of Latrobe; his mother, Carole A. (Kuba) Painter and her husband, Mark, of New Castle; his girlfriend and love of his life, Ashley N. Hoyle; an aunt, who was his best friend and mentor, Darlene D. (Gower) Schmucker; an uncle, Dennis Gower and his wife, Edanna; an aunt, Stacey A. Tamer; and an uncle Steven M. Kuba; a stepsister, Nicole Wible and her husband, Jake; a stepbrother, Wyatt Prentice; a stepsister, Kelsey Williams and her husband, Justin; paternal grandparents, Edward and Dolores Gower; maternal grandmother, Julie F. Kuba; two nephews, Landan Wible and Kaeleb Wible; a neice, Rhylee Wible; his faithful companion, Otto; as well as several other family members and numerous friends. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2015, at FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2015, at Frederick Funeral Home Inc. Burial will be private.
