Florence E. Payne

Florence E. Payne, 82, of Latrobe, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at home. Born April 17, 1925, in Derry, she was a daughter of the late William and Catherine Cowan. She was a homemaker and a member of Latrobe Presbyterian Church and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #221 of Latrobe. She is survived by her husband, Virgil O. "Rusty" Payne; a son, Thomas A. Payne and his wife, Linda L., of New Alexandria; two grandsons, Travis and Luke Payne; two great-grandchildren, Zoe and Cyric; a sister, Rosemary Dumont, of Blairsville; a stepbrother, Richard Payne and his wife, Annetta, of North Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Sally Sweeney, of Derry, and Roseann Mrzinsky and her husband, Felix, of Latrobe; a cousin, Skip Cowan, of Texas; as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Clark Kerr officiating. Interment in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township.
