Elizabeth L. Marron

Elizabeth L. "Betty" Marron, 90, of Greensburg, formerly of Latrobe, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, in Westmoreland Manor. She was born Aug. 20, 1919, in Latrobe, daughter of the late Charles P. and Elizabeth A. (Short) Biller. Betty retired in 1984 from Latrobe Area Hospital, where she worked as a nurses' aid. She was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Holy Family Rosary Alter Society and a volunteer for many years at Christ the Divine Teacher school cafeteria. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Marron Sr., in 1986; and a son, James P. Marron, in 1972; and two brothers, Charles L. Biller and Earl J. Biller. She is survived by four children, Jean Moline and her husband, Jonathan, of Rockville, Md., Mary Shrum, of Youngwood, John P. Marron Jr. and his wife, Deborah, of Latrobe, and Elizabeth (Betsy) Giernacky and her husband, John, of Greensburg; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas A. Biller and his wife, Eleanor, of Latrobe; two sisters, Jean Abraham, of Wheeling, W. Va., and Mary Eleanor Lerch, of Langhorne. Friends welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Roman Catholic Church, with Father Daniel C. Mahoney as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Vincent Cemetery, Latrobe. The Holy Family Rosary Alter Society will recite the Rosary at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Family requests that memorial contributions be made in her name to Holy Family Catholic Church, 1200 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650 or to a charity of your choice.
