Donald Robert “Punky” DeMine

Donald Robert “Punky” DeMine, 75, of Latrobe, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.  He was born Feb. 1, 1948, in Latrobe, to the late Donald M. and Katherine (McDonald) DeMine.  Don was a retired plant manager having worked for Chestnut Ridge Foam Inc. (formerly Toyad Corporation).  Following retirment he worked at Latrobe Hardware.  He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.  He was also an active member of the Living History Civil War Group where he was known as "Asher Coulter”, and a camper at Scottyland.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Lucas, a brother, Jeffrey DeMine, and a son-in-law, Scott Poklembo.  He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dianne Lynn (Black) DeMine; three children, Donald R. DeMine and his wife, Danielle, Sheila M. Poklembo, Constance J. Boyd and her husband, Christopher L.; a granddaughter whom he raised as his daughter Josalynn R. Lucas and her fiancé Dalton Albright; 12 grandchildren, Robert DeMine, Sara Coulter (David), Shannon DeMine, Samantha Poklembo (fiancé Tyler Schmucker), Scott Poklembo, Alex DeMine, twins Jazmine and Jakob DeMine, Jacob Stull, Sammy DeMine, Asher Boyd, Emma Boyd; five great-grandchildren, Domnick Bratton, Nathan Coulter, Addison Giordan, Eli Albright, and Avery Giordan and a little girl on the way; two brothers, Kenneth DeMine (Peggy) and Randy DeMine (Patricia); two sisters-in-law, Rebecca Glass (Christopher) and Elaine Serembo (Richard); an uncle, Jack McDonald; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.  Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023, and Monday Nov. 27, 2023, at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650.  A funeral service will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Latrobe with the Trinity Clergy officiating.  Interment will follow at Unity Cemetery, Latrobe.  To send flowers or condolences, please visit www.FrederickFuneralHome.com.
