Charles P. “Charlie” Beuten, 90, of Latrobe, passed away in the loving arms of his wife at home on February 6, 2024.  Charlie served in the army in Korea and retired from Vulcan Mold & Iron Company in 1990.  After retirement he enjoyed taking care of the farm he grew up on since he was eight years old.  He always loved hunting and the outdoors, and spent many days with friends in the woods both locally and in different locations across North America.  He was able to hunt in Canada, Montana, Colorado, and Maine.  He also enjoyed many vacations as well, with one of his favorite destinations being Alaska, where he returned seven times.  Charles is survived by his wife, Vicki M. Beuten; his son, John Paul Beuten (Leslie) and his granddaughter, Sara.  He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Rick Millen and his wife Cindy; two longtime friends who were family to him, Chuck McDowell and his wife Hollie, and Jeff Seranko and his wife Barb (they were all always there to help him take care of the farm); several cousins; and his fur baby friend Bella.  Charles was the son of the late John H. and Ruth (Keys) Beuten.  He was also preceded in death by his beloved brother, Frank E. Beuten.  Per Charles’s wishes there will be no viewing and interment will be private at a later date.  Charles’ wife would like to extend a special thank you to Charlotte and Shari from Heartland Hospice for their loving care and attention.  If friends so desire, they can make donations in Charles memory to Trinity United Church of Christ, 139 N. Main St., Greensburg, PA 15601, or Heartland Hospice, 3520 Rt 130, Bldg. 3, Irwin, PA 15642.  FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650, entrusted with arrangements.  To send condolences please visit www.FrederickFuneralHome.com.
