Anthony J. Zaccagnini, 90, of Barnes House, Latrobe, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. Born June 12, 1917, in Ohio, he was a son of the late Luigi and Carmella Coccientelli Zaccagnini. Prior to retirement, he was a machine repairman for Kennametal with 38 years of service. He was a member of UAW Local 1059. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Sam, Louis and Joseph Zaccagnini; and two sisters, Louise Bergant and Mary Torockio. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Josephine (Lombard) Zaccagnini; three children, Marcia Hunter, Robert Zaccagnini and his wife, Evelyn, and Patricia Pastor and her husband, James, all of Latrobe; five grandchildren, Lisa Rellick and her husband Chris, Ed Palmer and his wife Kim, Roxanne Shadren and her husband Mike, Dr. Rob Zaccagnini and his wife Stephanie, and Maria Pastor; five great-grandchildren, Kayla and Matt Rellick, Airianna and Erin Palmer, and Vincenzo Zaccagnini; two brothers-in-law, Sam Torockio, of Latrobe, and Paul Nemcheck, of Michigan; six sisters-in-law, Mary Lovera, of Michigan, Ruth Lombard, of Latrobe, Rose Lombard, of Michigan, Mary DeLuca, of Blairsville, Louise Zaccagnini, of Export, and Lillian Myers, of Delmont; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday in Holy Family Roman Catholic Church at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Ken Zaccagnini as celebrant. Burial in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
